Gregory ferrand

Gregory Ferrand received a degree in film from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1997. A native of Washington DC, he lived in Argentina for several years and began to draw and paint full time.
Gregory pulls on influences as wide ranging as comics, Mexican muralists, and 1950's fashion to create paintings that reveal both the beauty and tragedy of living. His background in film is evident in the strong use of narrative he employs in his paintings.   He gently unmasks the psychological or emotional state of his subjects, inviting the viewer to share and empathize with their stories.
