MAY 3-JUNE 3
GROUP SHOW
INSPIRED BY TRAVEL
To travel is to experience the best of humanity: both past and present. Each work in this show is inspired by a landscape, a painting, a sculpture, a mountain, a cathedral, a cafe or a conversation. The show is curated to make connections with great works of art and small works of art, with landscapes of grandeur and small moments of beauty. I hope you will find wonder and personal connection in the work...we each view the world so uniquely, so beautifully.
This group show is inspired by my travels where the gray, soft light gave way to glorious days of blue skies and clarity.

THE ANATOMY OF AN INANIMATE OBJECT
SEPT 4-OCT 31, 2021
THE ANATOMY OF AN INANIMATE OBJECT
SEPT 4-OCT 31, 2021
Tactile and textural, the sculptures of Jessica Drenk highlight the chaos and
beauty that can be found in simple materials. Jessica's work is influenced by
systems of information and the impulse to develop an encyclopedic understanding of the world. Jessica’s interests in archaeology, paleontology, biology, botany and geology influence not only the shapes and textures of her sculpture, but also lend a visual framework for creating, collecting and classifying her own specimens of the present. The sculptures are both fragile and strong, complex and simple; always elegant, dynamic and unique. Her materials are as varied as marble, junkmail, PVC pipes, toilet paper, books, pencils, wood, coffee filters, and q-tips.
“My work is an inquiry into materiality: what makes up the objects that
surround us as well as the composition of the natural world. I am interested
in how parts combine to create a whole and the intricacies of shape and
texture found in the world at every scale. In treating everyday objects as raw
material to sculpt, I practice a form of conceptual alchemy: through
physically manipulating these objects their meanings become transmuted.
Each piece is a direct response to material—a subversion of the meanings
associated with it, and a reference to the life cycle of objects through time.”
Jessica was raised in Montana, where she developed an appreciation for the
natural world that remains an important inspiration to her artwork
today. Jessica was awarded the International Sculpture Center's Outstanding
Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award. Her work has been
pictured in Sculpture Magazine and she has exhibited in shows at the International Grounds for Sculpture in NJ, Huntington Museum of Art in West Virginia (Walter Gropius Master Artist) Skidmore College, the Albuquerque Museum, the Tucson Museum of Art, the Everhart Museum, Yale University and the Brooklyn Public Library. Her work is in many prominent individual and corporate art collections. Jessica exhibited with the gallery at PULSE Miami, PULSE NY and the Silicon Valley ArtFair. This is her fourth show with Adah Rose Gallery. Jessica Drenk received an MFA from the University of Arizona in 2007 and a BA from Pomona College in 2002. She currently lives and works in New York.

18 Meditations
April 28-May 30, 2021
Anne Smith
18 Meditations is a series of colored pencil, charcoal and graphite drawings that explore the place of imagination in landscape and the marvel of trees’ ability to soothe human worries.
Some ancient connection formed between people and trees, such that our leafy friends can cause humans to experience physical changes in the body: easing stress and promoting a whole host of related health benefits. For a period of time during the pandemic when I was able to take daily escapes (however brief) into the woods, I did not have to think about this phenomenon -- I just knew in my body that it felt good to be surrounded by trees. I could take my anxieties into the woods and leave them there, dump them into outstretched arms, seemingly ready to accept and metabolize the burden without judgement. No matter what weight I brought with me, the trees just kept standing there, tall and swaying in the wind, silently reaching their arms up to the sky and rooting down to the ground. I came to see them as embodying a posture I wish to practice in my own life.
So much of my practice begins with listening, looking and silence, which allows me to tune into my surroundings. By “tuning in,” I mean “paying attention” and even finding that my mind inserts its own imaginings and sense of wonder into what I see before me.
These drawings contain humor and tragedy, fear and resolve, peace and tumult, resilience and vulnerability. The one constant I’ve experienced in the making of these is that the trees continue to rise and reach.

"May You Live in Interesting Times"
March 3- April 10, 2021
Maremi Andreozzi
Maremi has created a remarkable and sensitive group of portraits of women entitled "History Adorned". Some of the women are famous, others have only recently begun to have their fascinating stories told. They range from teachers to doctors, queens to courtesans, scientists to poets, couturiers to activists. Each is painted in silhouette, ageless and beautiful. Their adornments; brooches, lace, earrings, hats and dress are exquisite and give them each a wonderful uniqueness.
Maremi grew up and lives in Alexandria Virginia. She earned a BFA from Cornell University and a MFA from Clemson University. She was an artist in residence at the International Artist Residency in La Macina di San Cresci in Chianti, Italy. She has exhibited at the Tephra Institute for Contemporary Art, the Smith Center, the Rachel Schlesinger Art Center/NOVA, the Torpedo Factory, Radford University, Glenview Mansion and the Howard County Council for the Arts. Her work is in many private and public collections including Marriott Corporation and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. This is Maremi's first show with Adah Rose Gallery.
Wayson R. Jones
The paintings of Wayson Jones are a mere six by six inches, yet each has a monumental presence. They are tactile, lavish, alluring and modest. The physicality of paint is explored in each painting and the beauty of color. Some of the paintings have a rich impasto with bold gestures and energy. Other works are smooth as silk. Wayson has a background in music and each painting performs in wonderful and powerful ways.
Wayson is a painter, musician, and spoken-word artist. He received a degree in music from the University of Maryland and later went on to perform with the renowned poet Essex Hemphill, as part of Washington DC's burgeoning Black gay and lesbian arts scene of the 80's and 90's. The two performed at DC Space, Blues Alley, The Kennedy Center, The Painted Bride (Philadelphia), LACE (Los Angeles) and LaMama Theater (NYC) They appeared in works by filmmaker Isaac Julien and Videographer Marlon Riggs. Wayson's visual art is informed by his performance experience and an exuberant approach to materiality and process. He has exhibited at the Black Rock Center for the Arts, Arts/Harmony Hall, Northern Virginia Community College and DCAC.
Wayson received a 2017 Individual Artist Fellowship from the Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council. His work is in numerous public and private collections including the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and the MGM National Harbour. This is Wayson's first show with Adah Rose Gallery.

"The Song of Earth Has Many Different Chords"
Gabe Brown and Scott Hazard
November 12-Jan 31 2021
Gabe Brown
Gabe Brown creates gorgeous landscapes that celebrate nature and the
changing seasons. She creates a world of parallel universes that reward us
with spaces of both vastness and intimacy. Gabe’s depiction of nature is
sensuous; bursting forth and performing for us. Her palettes are bold and
elegant. She employs a mystical layering of motifs of water, land, leaves,
mountains, rainbows and rocks in complex variations. There is a great deal
of control in her work and as well as a freedom and letting go.
Her universe is full of mystery and wonder and each work moves us closer
to nature and ourselves. As Gabe says “Art is like magic, an illusion created
by the force of humanity.”
Gabe Brown was raised in New York City. She received her BFA from The
Cooper Union and was awarded a full fellowship to attend the Skowhegan
School of Painting and Sculpture. She received her MFA in painting from
the University of California, Davis. Gabe is a 2018 recipient of a New York
Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Painting Award. She has exhibited in
many shows including Kenise Barnes Contemporary Art, Samuel Dorsky
Museum of Art, Matteawan Gallery, The Saratoga Arts Center, PULSE
Miami Art Fair, Garrison Arts Center, ArtsWestchester, Schweinfurth Arts
Center, SUNY Brockport, the Horticultural Society of New York, Sears-
Peyton Gallery and Carrie Haddad Gallery. Her work is included in both
public and private collections. She lives and works in the Hudson Valley of
New York. This is Gabe’s second show with Adah Rose Gallery.
Scott Hazard
The sculptures of Scott Hazard are tactile and poetic, allowing our minds to
relax, slow down and linger over his gentle phrases and quiet meanings.
Scott creates sculptures with hand torn paper and text that depict
gardens and landscapes with both order and serenity. The lulling text serves
as a mantra and a reminder of how important nature is in our lives. His
sculptures are an homage to mountains, rolling hills, rivers, caves, snow
and poetry, with important links to both Japanese and Chinese
gardens. Scott reminds us that the “origin of the English word
garden refers to a sense of enclosure...creating a safe haven”
The craft in his work is extraordinary and the vision quietly brilliant.
They have depth and warmth, focus and peace.
Scott was born in California and received a degree in Landscape
Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
He received an MFA in sculpture, photography and video from the
University of Florida. He is the recipient of an Artist Fellowship in Visual
Arts from the North Carolina Arts Council. Scott has exhibited at CAM
Raleigh, Mixed Green in NYC, Second Street Gallery in Charlottesville VA,
Goucher College, Davidson College, the Atlantic Center for the Arts, Art
Miami Context, Art Silicon Valley and The Reveal Art Fair. His work has
been featured in Juxtapoz, Hi-Fructose, Colossal and the Washington Post.
He lives and works in Raleigh, N.C. This is Scott’s second show with Adah Rose Gallery.

"The Patina of Time"
Susan Stacks and Christina Tenaglia
Sept 8-Oct 31, 2020
Open by Appointment Most Days
Susan StacksSusan creates cosmic drawings with pencil and pen full of golden transfers of energy and complex data systems. Her varied influences include physics, nests, netflix recommendations, algorithms, microorganisms, Buddha warriors, particle mapping, manga, and Olbers’ paradox. As Susan draws, a twist becomes a tug, a dash a dot. Meaning is folded into the repeated gestures that make up the whole form. In these intricate and ritualistic drawings, gold beams, cloud-like swirls of dots, and graphite spirals overlap elegantly. Intricate mark-making demands closer inspection of the work: Swaths of gold and silver are not solid, rather value is built up through repeated dashes. Susan’s practice is ultimately meditative—an intellectual exercise in moving across the page. Contained in each piece is a reflection on the nature of labor and perception of time.
Susan earned her MFA from the School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan in 2011. She received her BFA, Magna cum laude, in sculpture, art, and visual technology from George Mason University in 2008. She has received several grants and fellowships, both as an undergraduate and graduate student. Susan was a Fine Air fellow at the Strathmore Mansion in Bethesda, MD. She has shown with Work in Detroit, A&D Works in Chicago, The University of Michigan, George Mason University, the Joan Hisoaka Healing Arts Gallery and the Rackham Centennial Exhibit in Ann Arbor, MI. This is Susan's fourth show with the gallery.
Christina Tenaglia
Christina Tenaglia’s sculptures are in a continual state of doing and undoing, arriving at a perfect moment of repose. Using mostly wood, clay and paint, each sculpture is carefully constructed and inspires a playful exploration of its parts. They are fragments, passing thoughts, lists, rigorous, but also full of wonder. "Each scene is distilled down to the essentials, or perhaps the nonessentials. They are not quite sculpture, not quite object, not quite painting, not quite drawing, not quite figure, not quite tool." They are anti epic and anti monumental and oh so wonderful.
Christina Tenaglia is a visual artist from Hudson New York. Her practice includes drawing, painting and sculpture. Christina received her BA from Vassar College and her MFA from Yale University School of Art. She has been the recipient of numerous residencies including a MacDowell Colony Fellow, an I-Park Residency, and the Catwalk Residency. She currently teaches at Vassar College. Selected exhibitions include the Dorsky Museum, Hudson Valley MOCA, Goliath Visual Space, Rawspace in New York City, Yale University, Vassar College, Trestle Gallery in Brooklyn, Thomas Park New York, 500 X Gallery, Weathervane and Tiger Strikes Asteroid. Christina has been reviewed in Hyperallergic, the Washington Post, Two Coats of Paint, and the Brooklyn Rail. This is Christina's second show with Adah Rose Gallery.
Safe Havens: Maggie Gourlay and Scott Hazard Curated by Laura Augustin
Laura Augustin, a Curatorial Assistant at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, curated this show in conjunction with the mentorship program at ArtTable DC.
This is an Artsy online exclusive show:
https://www.artsy.net/show/adah-rose-gallery-safe-havens-maggie-gourlay-and-scott-hazard-curated-by-laura-augustin
Safe Havens brings together the work of artists Maggie Gourlay and Scott Hazard. Through various media and differing scale, both artists confront aspects of the natural environment.
Maggie Gourlay
Themes of environmentalism and home are apparent in four distinct bodies of work by Maggie Gourlay. Her works dealing with the concept of home evoke both the complexities of comfort versus confinement and our conflicted relationship with the natural world. In her Floorplans series, Gourlay draws blueprints of her former homes with thread from memory. The faint lines and trailing ends correlate to gaps in memory while the bold details represent a strong remembrance. Her recent screenprint series, Wallpapers for a Warming World, deal with issues of invasive species that they are in direct competition with domestic flora.
Maggie Gourlay is an artist based in Kensington, MD. Maggie is a graduate of Georgetown University and received her MFA from Towson University where she was awarded a Graduate Art Department Fellowship. This is Maggie's second show with Adah Rose Gallery.
Scott Hazard
Topographical mixed-media works investigate the relationship between the environment and introspection. The deep ravines and caverns in his constructions offer an escape from the physical environment. It is through these portal-like voids that Hazard explores how the concept of wilderness can shift from nature to the near constant influx of information that defines many of our lives. Much like the invasive species Gourlay refers to directly in her work, this invasion of information vies with our thoughts for space in our psyches.
Scott Hazard is an artist based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Scott received his landscape architecture education at California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo and earned his MFA in Scuplture at the University of Florida. This is Scott's second show with Adah Rose Gallery.

Kyujin Lee
May 7-June 8, 2020
Artist Kyujin Lee begins each of her paintings with washes of color. Images emerge as she allows her imagination and brush to follow her impulses and ideas. The stories that appear, while deeply personal, are meant to be shared and universal. Two motifs: the Little Mermaid and Pinocchio appear in much of Kyujin's art and often serve as alter egos and propel the narrative in her paintings.
Kyujin was born and raised in Seoul South Korea and currently resides in Washington DC. She received her BA from Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul and her MFA from the City College of the City University of New York. She has exhibited in solo shows at the McLean Project for the Arts, The Fisher Gallery at Northern Virginia Community College, Mount St. Marys University and the 39th Street Gallery. Kyujin has been in numerous group shows and for several years has exhibited with Adah Rose Gallery in their summer "Carte Blanche" show.
WESLEY BERG
"The Infinite in the Intimate"
Jan 8-Feb 15
The drawings of Wesley Berg distill individual elements of line, gesture and color to create moments of visual curiosity. His work asks questions of space, flirting with flat and three-dimensional perspective. Wesley creates his drawings with a few graphite pencils and light washes of watercolor on paper. They are playful, enticing, humorous and boldly simplified - the work is intended to appear as though it simply “happened”.
Wesley received an MFA in painting and drawing from the University of Florida and a BFA from Miami University of Ohio. After living and working in NYC, Wesley attended a series of national and international artist residencies, including the Vermont Studio Center, Santa Fe Art Institute, the Baer Art Center in Iceland, the Nelimarkka Museo in Finland, ARNA in Sweden, Earthskin Creative Residency in New Zealand, and JOYA: Arte + Ecologie in Spain. Recent solo exhibitions include Marshall University, the Osage Arts Center, and Brazosport College, and the Cole Art Center. Wesley is currently an Assistant Professor of Art at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. This is his first solo show with Adah Rose Gallery.

"With Sun and Moon They Paint Their Dreams"
Matt Pinney
Sept 5-Nov 3,2019
The light is electric and mesmerizing in the oil paintings of Matt Pinney. There are familiar elements of figure and landscape in each work but each scene is dreamlike, cinematic and mysterious. His subjects are as far ranging as opera singers, nightclubs, a day at the beach, classic statuary and an homage to great painters and mythologies of the past. There is an overarching sense of nostalgia, loneliness, desire and the need to connect with another human being in his work. Matt explores and celebrates the power and beauty of paint in all its color and purity to create works that are animated and allegorical.
Matt Pinney is a multi-media artist living and working in Washington DC. He received his MFA in painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 2007 and his BFA from Indiana University in 2001. His solo exhibitions include
Brentwood Arts Exchange, Margaret W. and Joseph Fisher Forum Gallery, Gross McCleaf Gallery, Alone, and Artist's House Gallery. He has shown in numerous group shows throughout the Washington DC area. Matt is the recipient of several awards from the DC Commission on Arts and Humanities and teaches art full time at Northern Virginia Community College, Manassas. This is Matt's first show with Adah Rose Gallery.

"Beguiled by Caravaggio"
Joan Belmar
June 1-July 23, 2018
Vernissage/Opening Saturday June 2 6-8 pm
The universe is a place of infinite possibility and beauty in the elegant works of Joan Belmar. In "Beguiled by Caravaggio" Joan draws inspiration from the Italian Master's use of light and darkness, and creates his own abstract works that investigate the metaphorical meanings of the color black. In this new body of work, Joan's paintings are more simplified, more minimal, but still allude to the rich layerings of culture, science, maps, and planets, while retaining a sense of mystery. There is a luminosity, a sumptuous velvety black; a sense of infinity.
Joan Belmar was born in Santiago, Chile and left for Spain at the age of 24. He began painting professionally in Spain, and moved to Washington, D.C. four years later. Joan was granted permanent residency in the U.S. based on extraordinary artistic merit in 2003, and became a citizen in 2010.
Joan is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including the Mayor's Art Award Finalist in Washington, DC, the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities Fellowship Program, and an Individual Artist Grant by the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, and the state of Maryland. In 2016 he won first place in the Osten Biennial of Drawing in Macedonia. He has exhibited in numerous shows including Addison Ripley Gallery, Charles Krause Reporting, IA&A at Hillyer, and the Katzen Arts Center at American University. Joan has exhibited with Adah Rose Gallery at PULSE Miami, PULSE New York, the Silicon Valley Art Fair, and the Dallas Art Fair.

"The Color of the Universe Changes Over Time"
Chris Trueman
March 16-April 28, 2018
Vernissage/Opening Saturday March 17 5:00-7:30
Live Music by Bud Wilkinson
Chris Trueman’s lavish and exuberant paintings are immersed in the vibrancy of nature and the cosmos. He celebrates the act and excitement of abstract painting by combining elements of form and color to create an illusionistic depth, much like that of a movie or digital image. The viewer’s eye becomes convinced of a dimension that extends beyond the surface of the painting. The paintings are a pure celebration of form and color where the raw energy of brush stroke is softened by the colors of Southern California. Some evoke thoughts of wild landscapes, some seem calligraphic, all share a mysterious beauty.
Chris earned his MFA from Claremont Graduate University in 2010, graduating with a concentration in Painting. While at CGU he was the recipient of numerous awards including the Ann Peppers Foundation Fellowship, a Claremont Graduate University Merit Fellowship and a faculty recommended Dedalus Foundation Fellowship Nomination. Chris received a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2003, earning dual degrees in Painting and Digital Media. Chris has taught Painting at Fullerton College and Chapman University. He has exhibited his work in numerous shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and internationally in Italy, Australia, France and Germany. Chris has shown at the Torrance Museum of Art and MOAH (Museum of Art and History). This is his second show with the Adah Rose Gallery.
Jessica Drenk
"The Evocation of a Moment...a Gesture"
Jan 19, 2018-March 2, 2018
Vernissage/Opening Saturday January 20...6-8PM
Live Music by Bud Wilkinson
Tactile and textural, the sculptures of Jessica Drenk highlight the chaos and beauty that can be found in simple materials. Jessica's work is influenced by systems of information and the impulse to develop an encyclopedic understanding of the world. Jessica’s interests in archaeology, paleontology, biology, botany and geology influence not only the shapes and textures of her sculpture, but also lend a visual framework for creating, collecting and classifying her own specimens of the present. The sculptures are both fragile and strong, complex and simple; always elegant and unique. Her materials are as varied as marble, PVC pipes, toilet paper, books, pencils, wood, coffee filters, and q-tips.
Jessica was raised in Montana, where she developed an appreciation for the natural world that remains an important inspiration to her artwork today. Jessica was awarded the International Sculpture Center's Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award. Her work has been pictured in Sculpture Magazine and she has exhibited in shows at the International Grounds for Sculpture in NJ, Skidmore College, the Albuquerque Museum, the Tucson Museum of Art, the Everhart Museum, Yale University and the Brooklyn Public Library. Her work is in many prominent individual and corporate art collections. Jessica has exhibited in numerous solo and duo shows in Washington DC, Dallas, San Francisco, Hawaii, Florida, Massachusetts and Arizona. She has exhibited with the gallery at PULSE Miami, PULSE NY and the Silicon Valley Art Fair. This is her third show with Adah Rose Gallery. Jessica Drenk received an MFA from the University of Arizona in 2007 and a BA from Pomona College in 2002. She currently lives and works in Florida.
Gregory Ferrand
"IT IS YOU (AND ME TOO)"
Nov 16, 2017-Jan 5, 2018
Vernissage/Opening Saturday November 18 6-8 pm
Live Music by Terraplane
Isolation, alienation and solitude are all emotions we experience in our complicated lives. While technology and entertainment keep us connected and informed, they also contribute to the complexity of human relationships. At the core of those relationships is the family. Artist Gregory Ferrand captures the loneliness we feel even when surrounded by those we love. Each of Gregory’s paintings invites us into a world of stories and beautifully portrayed details. We come to know the people who inhabit his works by the clothes they wear, the paintings they hang on their walls, the books they read and the cell phones they carry. Their sense of wariness (and Gregory's empathy) is further amplified by the stylized palettes he chooses for each painting.
Gregory earned his BA from Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus on Film and English Literature. His influences are as wide ranging as Mexican Muralists, Comic Books and 1950s fashion. He has worked as an illustrator for Mosaic Theater Company, Gala Hispanic Theater, the Washington DC JCC Theater J and numerous others. Gregory has shown at Hillyer IA and A, the McLean Project for the Arts, the Joan Hisoaka Healing Arts Gallery, La Luz de Jesus Gallery, Art Whino, Artomatic and the DCAC. He is a four time recipient of the District of Colombia Artist Fellowship Grant and several illustration awards. This is his first show with Adah Rose Gallery.

"THE SANGUINE SUNRISE, WITH HIS METEOR EYES, AND HIS BURNING PLUMES OUTSPREAD" (SHELLEY)
SEPTEMBER 14-OCTOBER 29
VERNISSAGE SEPTEMBER 23 6-8 PM
LIVE MUSIC BY TERRAPLANE
Susan Stacks
Susan creates cosmic drawings with pencil and pen full of golden transfers of energy and complex data systems. Her varied influences include Netflix recommendations, algorithms, microorganisms, Buddha warriors, particle physics, mapping, manga, and Olbers’ paradox. As Susan draws, a twist becomes a tug, a dash a dot. Meaning is folded into the repeated gestures that make up the whole form. In these intricate and ritualistic drawings, gold beams, cloud-like swirls of dots, and graphite spirals overlap elegantly. Intricate mark-making demands closer inspection of the work: Swaths of gold are not solid, rather value is built up through repeated dashes. Susan’s practice is ultimately meditative—an intellectual exercise in moving across the page. Her intricate, cosmic drawings juxtapose familiar patterns that resemble picturesque nebulas with unknown areas that are unresolved even to her. Data is collected, organized, and disassembled. Contained in each piece is a reflection on the nature of labor and perception of time.
Susan earned her MFA from the School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan in 2011. She received her BFA, Magna cum laude, in sculpture, art, and visual technology from George Mason University in 2008. During her three years at the University of Michigan, she worked as a Graduate Student Instructor. This is Susan's third show with the gallery.

Nathan Loda
"Histories, Heroes and Small Moments"
April 28- June 5, 2016
Vernissage Sunday May 1 Brunch 12-3pm Live Music by Bud Wilkinson, Guitar
History holds a fascination for artist Nathan Loda. Through old photographs, folklore, ancient artifacts, and letters, his paintings examine his American identity and family stories. These stories are told using the myriad influences of his childhood: toys, films and adventures outdoors. There is a rich vitality in Nathan’s work and his paintings relate witty and expansive narratives. There are reoccurring motifs and characters including a little feathered doll he calls the “Trickster”, who suggests that perhaps there is more than meets the eye in a given work. His exquisitely painted oils are comprised of wonderfully small moments that invite the viewer to explore larger, universal stories. Nathan hopes that the paintings offer an opportunity to examine the history and culture of a country that is continuously learning about itself through new interpretations.
Nathan is an American realist Oil painter. He was born in 1989 and raised in Northern Virginia. He received an MFA degree from George Mason University in 2015 and a BFA in painting from Shepherd University in 2011. While studying art, Nathan took numerous trips to Latin America, visiting Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Nathan also studied abroad at the Lamar Dodd School of Art in Cortona, Italy. He has shown in numerous shows in the Washington DC area and currently teaches art at George Mason University. This is Nathan’s first show with Adah Rose Gallery.
